Fix Moving Av bug.
I wanted to add another moving average for crossover study. The ADD button didn't seem to offer moving average, and right clicking the existing ma box didn't offer creating another new one...only altering the existing one. I happened to right click on a blank EPS box and found "add another moving average." I tried creating it from there, and got a subgraph with a straight white line...might have been dashes. FYI.
1 voteIn VectorVest 7, to add a Moving Average right-click on the item to the right of the graph that you would like to add a Moving Average to.
So, to add an MA to Price, right-click on the Price box, and select Add Moving Average.
You can add as many Moving Averages this way as you wish.

I would like it if you came up with a updated version of VectorVest that is compatible w/ Windows 7

To use Options Rate of Return, click on the Return: Stocks button on the toolbar and change it to Options Rate of Return.

Technical Analysis
In Unisearch, add Technical Indicators as a searchable parameter so that we can query the various Technical Indicators, e.g. all stocks where MACD line crosses signal line from below in last 10 days, or all stocks where the DPO has crossed the zero line from below.

This feature has been added into VectorVest 7. In VectorVest 7, you can add any of the standard indicators along technical indicators.

Give each stock on performance graph a different color line automatically.
Frequently all stocks are assigned white lines making it hard to identify what's what unless you make manual changes.

on graph page, add a field that tells one how much up or down the security is from yesterday's close
Yes, there is a open, high, low, close and there is a candle, but I would like to see a numerical figure somewhere that tells one instantly how much that security is up or down for the day
2 votesIn the Add Parameter list, there is a field Change, in the Price/Volume section. This will show the change from yesterday’s close.

STOCK SYMBOL LOOKUP FOR CO. NAME
There is often need to get the symbol for a stock so one can access data.

In the symbol entry box, you can enter a company name and it will find the matching symbol for you. -

This feature is currently available.
Click on Graph Settings by selecting the Wrench on the Graphs tab. Choose Theme on the left-side of the Graph Settings tab. You can choose the default Classic White theme or you can choose the Custom Theme and set the background of the graph to any color you would like.
You can also change the theme of the entire application to a White theme by selecting the General tab in Settings and
choosing the Classic skin. -

The DPO Crossover search is available in VectorVest 7 with the ProTrader add-in. The RealTime data add-in is not required to run these searches.
The upgrade to VectorVest 7 from VectorVest 6 / VectorVest Online is free, so try it out if you haven’t done so yet:

In VectorVest 7, closing the application will log you out.

Freeze columns in Stock Viewer
With excel, columns and rows can be frozen so that as I use the scroll bars the columns/rows that are frozen stay on the display.

Fix Bug in portfolio value reporting
The value shown in the Table and on chart for portfolio performance do not match for EOD data. The figure in the Table on the left is correct but the figure on the chart is not displayed correctly. This is a bug.

VV7 does not display days views without exit and reloading VV7
VV 7 does not display the new daily view text without exit and reloading. This has occured the past several days. although it is shown on VV6, VV7 will not display the new views page. In order to get it, you must exit and re enter the program. apparently does not do a refresh, etc.
