RECODE THE SIMULATOR / VARIATOR TO WORK WITH MULTI-CORE PROCESSORS

THE PROGRAM (AS TOLD TO ME BY ONE OF THE SUPPORT PEOPLE) WAS WRITTEN FOR A SINGLE CORE PROCESSOR. IF THIS CAN BE REWRITTEN TO WORK WITH MULT-CORE PROCESSORS, THE PROGRAM MAY RUN FASTER. SOME SIMULATIONS HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL DAYS TO COMPLETE. (I HAVE A QUAD CORE )

I put the database on an Acard ANS-9010
which is a RAM disk made from DDR2 DIMM modules; speeds up the simulations quite a bit, until the SQL database slows down as it inevitably does...

I closed down all programs and checked my system at idle. For all practical purposes, there was no processor activity. Then I ran some test simulations. The processor usage was in constant motion, varying from as little as 7 percent to as great as 77 percent. activity was present on all 4 cores. So much for your theory, which has valididity, but limited validity.
Maybe your tests work ok on your computer(s) in your office, but there are thousands of
computers hooked up to Vectorvest, each with their own variable issues.
