  1. After running a backtest, the transaction log lists the Buys and Sells in batches, not in the order that they occured. A customer has requested that, if possible, this be listed in the order that it occured as it does not do so on the left under Status when the backtest is executed manually.

  2. It would be helpful to see the market changes in the backtester to help evaluate a strategy's effectiveness.

This feature is now available in our latest update to VectorVest 7, currently being rolled out.

  3. On BackTest in VectorVest 7, there are 4 built-in choices to choose from in Market Timing List. But I miss the closing position and Buying from search option that we have in VV-usa. I'd like to use this option to get out and get-in in time of my own determiniation. We have better control of handling portfolio with this option.
    Thank you.

you have to do it manually, but you can now change the stop criteria at any given point in time during a backtest… in the holdings view, use the Edit Stops button.

  7. Thanks for Market timing in the backtester. But, it should be available to simulator users without having to purchase Real Time. It is a function of the Simulator, which will eventually be integrated into VV7. So it would be great allow your simulator users access to it...please.
    Thanks

This is possible in the current Backtest tool. When setting up your Automation Rules, toggle to Advanced Mode at the top right corner. The last checkbox in the list is Automatically Replace Positions. Uncheck that box to get No Replacements.

Let us know if you have any questions about this. Thanks.

This is possible by creating a search in Unisearch that uses the Filter By parameter. Create a new Search. For Parameter choose Stocks – Filter By – Watchlists. Choose = for the Operator. And choose the Watchlist you would like to backtest for the Value. Then create a BackTest using this Search. The same can be done by Filtering By Stock to run a BackTest on a single stock.

  10. On the Stock Graph in the Markers menu put another selection option for Market Timing Dates in addition to the one for Stock Splits. This would be a very useful, if not essential, feature to find out how closely individual stocks correlate with the VV Timing Indicator.

This feature already exists in VectorVest 7. To access it, select the Calls button in the bottm-left hand corner near the Splits button. This will overlay the Market Timing Dates onto the stock chart.

If you have any questions about this, let us know.
