A new tool that would search for Support Bounces or Resistance touches ,

What I would like to see is a new tool that would search for Support Bounces or Resistance touches , W patterns.cup and handles, etc with just a click of the mouse. I would like to Search the Sectors, Industries, and watchlist, either mine or Vector Vest's..

This feature is now available in version 1.1.8 of VectorVest 7. You must have ProTrader to get access to this new and exciting feature. If you have not already been prompted to download the new version here is a link to get it.

The ability to run searches to find stocks nearing, retracing, or breaking Support / Resistance lines will be available as part of VectorVest 7 with the ProTrader add-on very soon.

AdminTimothy McGrath (Software Developer, VectorVest) responded  ·  October 02, 2010

We have added a tool to display Support/Resistance in Graphs as a part of Verson 1.1.7, now being rolled out to customers. It can be added just like any other parameter from the Technical Analysis group. Let us know what you think of this new tool. We are working on adding searching of this Support/Resistance data next.

AdminTimothy McGrath (Software Developer, VectorVest) responded  ·  August 30, 2010

We have made a lot of progress on this feature and should have something to show soon.

Ryan Pedersen responded  ·  April 19, 2010

We have now started the research process that is necessary to identify the specific technical work that will be needed to implement this feature.

We need a Cup With Handle stock formation search in watchdog. this would bring more customers to VV7 more profit for Dr De Liddo. job security for employees, less labor to search these stocks and profit for me

I really appreciate this improvement because now I don't need to draw the lines manually anymore.

The pattern trader software from Nirvana Systems would be a great model to look at when developing this. They run Omni trader software with this. It automatically finds patterns, breakouts, retracements, etc... and draws them on the chart automatically, and will give you a chart listing of stocks that are meeting these criteria each day.

I would think a search using the Bollinger Bands would do almost the same thing and that is already available.

I think Angel Clarks' suggestion would be most helpfull. More so than just the support and resistance lines.

Jim's idea would be a useful tool in the Vector Vest system. I'm looking forward to a early adoption and implementation of Jim's suggestion

1st time on this forum & what do I see the most perfect suggestion. Love the suggestion maybe an ALERT / WATCH Tool telling us which stocks are On The Move out of a base, and possibily showing the proper buy point. This would be SWEET ! and make things alot easier.
