The Views on 10/8/2010 contain a Strategy of the Week on how to use Support/Resistance.

  2. Yes, there is a open, high, low, close and there is a candle, but I would like to see a numerical figure somewhere that tells one instantly how much that security is up or down for the day

In the Add Parameter list, there is a field Change, in the Price/Volume section. This will show the change from yesterday’s close.

  6. Each time I type a symbol in the textbox on the Graphs page and press enter, I need to reach for the mouse again to click the cursor back into the textbox and press backspace before entering a new symbol. I do not want to use the mouse every time I want to get the graph for another symbol.

  7. Graph two or more stocks simultaneously...

I often like to see how much a stock is connected to SPY, QQQ, etc. or 2-3 similar stocks in the same sector. I am not able to do this in VV but can on my trading platform.

This feature exists in both VectorVest 7 and VectorVest Online. You can graph multiple stocks against each other by using a Performance Graph which is available in the Graphs section.

  8. When we do various drawings / trend lines on a stock chart (Graph), they disappear as soon as you close the chart. So 5mins later or next day, or next week if you want to check on those lines you drew previously, you have to draw them again and remember what you did with that particular stock and what you were waiting for. example waiting for a pullback to hit a support or trend line.

Is there anyway such drawings can be saved against the stock symbol ?

In graph settings, there is a setting for Right Margin. Increasing this will add a gap between the bar and the edge of the chart.

  10. My custom fields show up on uni search but on "Graph" Add Parameter there is no small right arrow on the custom field item and clicking on this does nothing. If I can search on a custom field then I need to graph it.

In VectorVest 7, you can add Moving Averages to a parameter by right-clicking on the parameter on the right-hand side of the Graph. Click Add Moving Average to choose a moving average to add.

This feature exists in the current Market Timing graphs. At the bottom left of the graph is a series of buttons. One is labeled Confirmed Calls to activate arrows on the graph showing where Market Calls happened.

Click the arrow next to the button to view Primary Wave, DEW, or Green Light Buyer instead.

  14. Add price change and price % change to "Price Bar" in graph control panel. This data is aready available in "viewers" tab and is used extensively/consistenty with other graphic systems.

Price Change and % Price Change are both available in graphs.

In the Graph Control Panel, click Add Parameter and you will find them under the Price/Volume section.

  15. The Performance graph is the only graph that does not allow you to draw trend lines and all other drawing options. If other options are and issue - then at least allow the extended line. Also regression channels would be a nice option added to the drawing package.

This is possible in VectorVest 7, Mitchell.

To see the earnings for S&P 500 on a graph, go to the Graphs tab and on the first button in the top toolbar, select Market Climate. One of the graphable parameters is Earnings for the S&P 500.

  17. Open a stock graph, and then open its Industry graph (from the stock graph); RT Ranking is not available as a Parameter. However, if go to Viewers > Industries, and then open a graph, RT Ranking is available. This problem should be fixed.

This feature exists in VectorVest 7 graphs.

In a graph, there is a button at the bottom left of the graph named Confirmed Calls. Toggle this button to turn the Confirmed Calls on/off on the graph. Click the arrow next to the button to view DEW or Primary Wave instead.

The Calls will show up as green/red triangles on the Price axis. Hover on the triangles to see how a highlighted view of how long the call lasted.

  19. It is very helpful to be able to look a graphs and clearly see where past trades were entered and exited. The note can contain all the vital information to evaluate how the decesion was made at the time, and at what price and time.

Graph notes exist in VectorVest 7. To add a Graph Note, click on the small arrow on the graph toolbar next to Freehand Line. The fifth item down is Note.

After selecting Note, you will be able to draw a Note anywhere on the graph. The note will save at the position you drew it for the security that you have graphed.

  20. I wanted to add another moving average for crossover study. The ADD button didn't seem to offer moving average, and right clicking the existing ma box didn't offer creating another new one...only altering the existing one. I happened to right click on a blank EPS box and found "add another moving average." I tried creating it from there, and got a subgraph with a straight white line...might have been dashes. FYI.

In VectorVest 7, to add a Moving Average right-click on the item to the right of the graph that you would like to add a Moving Average to.

So, to add an MA to Price, right-click on the Price box, and select Add Moving Average.

You can add as many Moving Averages this way as you wish.
