  2. We get alerts to buy and sell individual stocks based on our portfolio genius' market timing rules as we set it. I haven't had issues with that.

One of the useful rules we can set is for the portfolio to "Go to Cash" on Rules (Down). However, it appears we don't get any alerts for this rule and it functions no differently from the "No Action" setting - meaning alerts are only given when the individual stocks hit their stop loss prices.

I think it's a very important alert to provide and "Go to Cash" vs "No Action" are sufficiently…

  3. Some of my portfolios are not trading according to the timing signal nor the system instructions. I have 2 stocks currently still being held in my portfolio when DEW down says to go to cash. This is a critical issue for those of us who want to paper trade a system before placing real money into it!!!

  4. It would be quite helpful to be able to compare My Portfolio performance to that of the Trading System Viewer. To do that simply present My Portfolio performance in the same way as is done in TSV (1 mo., 3-mo, 1-year, ytd, etc.). Maybe you couldn't easily come up with a category title (prudent, conservative, etc.), but that would not be too critical. For those of us trying to create our own trading systems this feature would be very useful.

  5. Posting a negative number in the "Portfolio Management" tab. Not all option trades are winners. If I have a covered call and it goes ITM but I want to keep the stock I cannot post this loss on the option trade premium.

  6. When switching from one portfolio to another, you currently have to click on whatever layout you want. Once I pick the first layout, I would like the same layout to carryover to the next portfolio by default rather than having me click to choose my layout.

I'm often adjusting my profit locker pro stop price on the profitlocker pro graph and switching to the next portfolio to check the same thing. I have a profit locker layout and I'd like to not have to click it every time I switch to looking at a different portfolio.

  7. The description of the portfolio in the portfolio tab cannot be edited when it is created from "trading systems" in the viewers tab. After creating the description there, and then transferring it to a portfolio, one cannot then edit the description later. However, if the same trading system is created from the "new portfolio" in the portfolio tab and choosing the same system by choosing "an existing trading system", then the description can be edited. It seems that editing should be available regardless of which way the system is placed into the portfolio because the description should be able to…

  9. When opening transaction log edit in Reports, one can only add 2 decimals. Ally often sells with 4 decimals. Stock sold at 42.3862. The only way to modify so it agrees with Broker is by changing the commission. This give erroneous commission total in Summary Page. This really should be changed.

  12. User-defined stop values need to be 1) a parameter in the Graph Control Panel 2) a column in the Portfolios Holdings layout and 3) ideally, an ongoing line graph in portfolio-generated graphs (just like the VV stop line). VectorVest talks mightily to us about managing per our stops. Yet VV doesn't give us our stops to monitor ANYWHERE, unless we buy the ProfitLocker Pro module. This is unconscionable, and definitely not customer-centric. We can't manage without our stops visible to monitor. And no one should have to pay up to get that. Period.

  13. It would be good to move the stocks listed within a given portfolio up and down. A user might want to rank order stocks being considered; say most desirable on top and less desirable below.

  14. Re portfolios users create, it would be helpful to have a field for users' notes (like, buy once it crosses resistance at $xx.xx) . This type of note-to-oneself could also be accomplished by a post-it note feature.

  15. Each portfolio should have an associated "share" price based on an arbitrary NAV for each "share" when portfolio is created. Adding or removing cash from portfolio then simply buys/sells portfolio "shares". This means that portfolio performance does not change (charts especially) when you add/remove money. %up/down is based on portfolio "share" price inc/dec from initial NAV at portfolio setup time.

    Just like ETFs measure performance.

This would also means you should add a "performance view" to the portfolio chart for the following:

    YTD
    Since inception
Since any manually input start date and end date.

This was used by the Motley…

  16. There are 3 parts to this suggestion. I go into each one in detail in the attachment, but basically there are three broad suggestions:

    1. Revamp the daily email, which is basically a regurgitation of the prior day's activity log. It is currently a mess, far more data than needed, inconsistently presented, and oftentimes redundant. All that makes it far less useful than it could be. Bottom line: state only the last “stop criteria met” of the day for each position, and eliminate all of the “Stop Criteria…enabled” alerts for each position.
    2. Revamp the Activity Log of the Genius itself, so…

  17. List Transaction date/time as a field to choose and sort on in portfolio > layout. That way one could sort by intraday time to look at duration of trade for day trading etc. Only giving trade date is limiting as the timestamp is an important value for traders for many reasons. It should be easy to do as the data point is stored with the trade.

    Under Portfolio > reports >

Transaction log does list "Trade Date" as mm/dd/yyy hh:mm xM format so time is recorded somewhere. While T log is open cannot return to VV program. Cannot cut/paste or…

  18. Stop showing Stop Criteria Enabled status for each and every position every time the Genius is turned off and back on again. Only show a status when a Stop Criteria has actually been CHANGED for a position. Otherwise, the log - and especially the daily email summary - gets so busy that more important changes are in danger of getting buried in the chaff.

  19. I would like to receive email alerts on some portfolios that have the genius turned on but not on all of them. Right now we receive email notifications on all portfolios that have the genius turned on. Would be nice to differentiate which portfolios we want to have notifications and which ones we do not. The latter would be portfolios that we are just following but not trading.

  20. Provide the ability to import trade history for a stock into a VectorVest portfolio. Manually entering a long history is difficult. Import trade history from Quicken would be nice.
